City of Rosamond

The community of Rosamond, located just north of the Los Angeles County line in the County of Kern got its start in 1877 as a town site owned by the Southern Pacific Railroad.  Its primary industry at the time was mining and cattle.  It is bedroom community and serves the need for many of the employees and enlisted at the Edwards Air Force Base.  It is also just minutes away from the innovative, emerging civilian spaceport at Mojave.

Rosamond offers such activity as Willow Springs Raceway and Exotic Feline Breeding Compound. It is favored by aviation buffs as it offers a privately owned and operated sky park with a 3,600 – foot runway adjacent to homes with private hangars.  It offers a small town feel with just minutes to work or play.
